Naga City Mayor Legacion signed Partnership Agreement with CCARPH

16 July 2019 – Newly-elected Mayor Nelson S. Legacion of Naga City signed the Partnership Agreement with Coastal Cities at Risk in the Philippines (CCARPH). He also delegated Renne Gumba, Executive Officer of Naga City Resilience Council as the key person for this partnership. Mayor Legacion said that “Nandiyan sya nung simula, hanggang ngayon nandiyan sya” (He’s been there in the beginning, he will also be there now), emphasizing his desire for continuity in the partnership towards a resilient Naga City.

Present in the meeting are Dr. Emma Porio (Project Leader of CCARPH), Ms. Ma. Antonia Yulo Loyzaga (President of National Resilience Council), Ms. Malu Erni (Executive Director), and Drs. Celine Vicente and Laurice Jamero of Manila Observatory. Representatives from the Naga City Local Government are led by Mayor Nelson Legacion, Mr. Renne Gumba and Joy San Carlos of Naga City Resilience Council, Mr. Wilfredo Prilles of City Planning and Development Office, and Mr. Alec Francis Santos of the City Tourism Office.

The multi-stakeholder partnership between Naga City Local Government, CCARPH, Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo de Naga University, National Resilience Council and Manila Observatory is geared towards creating a science-informed, socially inclusive resilient plan for the city.
