“As of 3PM, 1 November 2020
Super Typhoon Goni downgraded to Typhoon and decreased intensity after landfall (max 1min sustained winds ~241 kph), moving W at 25kph towards CALABARZON (PAGASA; JTWC)
Very destructive winds over regions under TCWS#4: CamNorte, NW CamSur, Marinduque, Greater Metro Manila, CALABARZON, S parts of Central Luzon, N parts of Mindoro (PAGASA, as of 2PM Nov 1)
Heavy rainfall (~15-25 mm/hr) over Quezon province, Marinduque, and Bicol Region and moderate rainfall (~5-15 mm/hr) for the rest of Luzon and W Visayas. Total rainfall of 10-12 mm over Metro Manila due to STY Goni (12AM – 1PM 01 Nov) with moderate rainfall (~12mm) over southern and central parts of Metro Manila
STY Goni high rainfall (>250 mm) already affected southern Luzon for the past 7 hours (8 AM – 3 PM)
Starting 3PM, STY Goni expected to further bring in moderate rainfall (>50 mm) over NCR to N Luzon
Impact for potential landslides, storm surge, and effect on agricultural areas (especially on harvesting) and high population centers to be monitored especially over areas recently hit by TY Molave (Quinta).”
