The CER-M (Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Barcelona) is organizing a thematic week focused on environmental migrations which will take place between May 31st and June 4th this year.
CCARPH Project Leader and Principal Investigator Dr. Emma Porio will be one of the plenary speakers alongside Dr. Erika Pires (RESAMA – South American Network for Environmental Migrations), Dr. Awil Mohamoud (African Diaspora Policy Centre), and Dr. Etienne Piguet (Neuchâtel University).
Round Table 1 (“Environmental migration: different continents, different challenges?”) will address the broad socio-historical and environmental mechanisms that shape migratory movements in different continents, and to explore to what extent different territories and populations are affected by common processes. It will be held on Monday, May 31st, 2021 at 3 PM (Central European Time).

Round Table 2 (June 1st, 3pm CEST) – Social inequalities and (im)mobility due to environmental causes
Round Table 3 (June 2nd, 3pm CEST) – Legal and ethical issues related to environmental migration
Round Table 4 (June 3rd, 3pm CEST) – The role of International Organizations in the face of environmental migration
Round Table 5 (June 4th, 3pm CEST) – Future scenarios of a world of migration and environmental crisis
