Dr. Emma Porio, Project Leader and Principal Investigator of the Coastal Cities at Risk: Investing in Climate and Disaster Resilience, recently got inducted to the National Research Foundation of Korea (Researcher No. 12540569), with her participation in the 9-country research project, Varieties of Social Well-Being Mechanisms in Southeast Asia: Comparison with East Asian Societies, initiated by the Asian Well-Being (AWB) Research Consortium, and hosted by Senshu University, Tokyo and Seoul National University (SNU).
Prof. Porio has been the Philippines’ Principal Investigator of the AWB Research Consortium, with two major publications:
- Patterns of Social Well-Being in the Philippines (2017)
- Gender, Social Capital and Well-Being in Disaster Prone Communities in the Philippines (forthcoming, 2021).
These research engagements are part of the ADMU-Department of Sociology and Anthropology’s Anthropological and Sociological Initiative in Ateneo (DSA-ASIA), in particular, the Gender, Climate and Well-Being of the AWB Research Group.
