The Philippine-National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and the Office of Civil Defense will host its first virtual International Disaster Resilience Forum (IDRF) on July 29 to 30, 2021 as part of the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM). It is a two-day virtual event, with over 2,000 attendees expected. The profile of the attendees are international and local DRR practitioners, private sector organizations, civil society groups, academe, society sectors and the general public.
Dr. Charlotte Kendra Gotangco Gonzales, CCARPH leader of the Systems Team, as well as Associate Professor of the Department of Environmental Science and the Director of the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability, will be giving a plenary talk on city resilience from a systems perspective. The talk will integrate concepts initially presented during the Magisterial Lectures of Arete, with outcomes from the CCARPH project, specifically, the development of the Integrated Urban Systems Resilience Index model and insights from this endeavor.
This talk will be part of Plenary 2: Paradigm for Resilience, on July 30, 9-11 AM.
