Last May 19, 2021, the CCARPH team (composed of Dr. Emma Porio, Ina Salas, and Patty Ayo) met with Manila Observatory (MO) scientists and representatives from the Ateneo de Manila University Department of Physics (with SOSE-ARISE1 Climate and Disaster Resilience Laboratory), namely: Dr. Maria Obiminda L. Cambaliza, Dr. Faye Abigail Cruz, Dr. Laurice Jamero, Dr. Joel Maquiling, and Ms. Roxanne Austria.
During the meeting, the team discussed the possibility that the ADMU Department of Physics will have transdisciplinary research internships for its students in partnership with SOSS-DSA-ASIA2. Additionally, it was decided that MO’s Resilience Collaboratory knowledge products will be utilized by the university, LGUs, and CCARPH’s major private sector partner, the National Resilience Council (led by its President, Ms. Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga, and the Vice Chair for Scientific Organizations and Academe, Fr. Jose Ramon T. Villarin, SJ).
